Alan is a producer with over 25 years of industry experience in corporate communications and commercials.
He was responsible for introducing advertising on Metro trains and stations in South Africa and was a founding partner in The Letter Corporation that promoted washroom advertising in airports, cinemas, pubs and clubs.
With train and station advertising came a move into taxi and taxi rank advertising and the launch of a holding company called Altmedia. Altmedia was bought by Clear Channel Worldwide Media Group in 2000.
Alan then moved into full time production and communications consulting for various companies including Cell C, Eskom, Standard Bank, FNB, Deneys Reitz and MTN before partnering up with Kirsty to start Five Star Media.
Kirsty has varied experience across the spectrum of marketing, strategy and TV production. She has at various points in her career been an editor, a writer, a director, a compositor, a project manager and everything in between. She finally found her niche as a producer and herder of creative cats.
Founder of, and shareholder in Five Star Media, Kirsty has a wealth of experience and stash of awards & honors under belt. She was selected to take part in the Goldman Sachs-GIBS 10 000 Women Certificate Course for Women in 2012 and featured on the 702 Business Accelerator with Nedbank in 2014.
Also in 2014 Kirsty was selected as one of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneurial Winning Women Class of 2014 and featured in the Mail and Guardians 200 Young People 2014.
2017 saw Kirsty producing her first feature film, 10 Days In Sun City for well-known Nigerian actor/comedian AY Makun and is currently in development on her first TV series, a wine show called In Vino Veritas which will be hitting the small screen in 2019.
Kirsty was selected for the very prestigious Vital Voices/Bank Of America Global Ambassadors Program in Chicago in September 2017 where she learnt some valuable business skills and made some amazing contacts and will be presenting a talk at TEDx Lyttleton in Dec 2018.
